How MPX
measures memes.
Universe
MPX tracks a defined list of Solana memecoins, each identified by contract address.
Eligibility
An asset needs a valid, positive price and at least $10.0K in liquidity. Assets on the exclusion list are never eligible.
Initial basket
MPX launched with an initial basket of 10 constituent assets. Future composition is determined through the MPX rebalance methodology.
Constituents
MPX tracks 10 constituent assets in its current configuration. Eligible assets are ranked by market capitalisation. A member stays while it ranks within the top 13. A newcomer must rank within the top 8 to replace a member.
Weighting
Weights are proportional to the square root of market cap. No constituent may exceed 20%. Excess weight is redistributed proportionally to uncapped constituents. Weights always total 100%.
Index calculation
MPX measures the weighted performance of its constituent basket. Each price change moves MPX according to that constituent's weight. MPX is never an average of raw token prices. Between rebalances: MPX = base × Σ wᵢ × (pᵢ / pᵢ at rebalance).
Base value
MPX began at 100.00. The index value measures weighted basket performance from that base.
Rebalancing
MPX reviews its basket every 24 hours. Automatic composition changes are not active yet, so at each review the current basket and weights carry forward and the next review is scheduled 24 hours later. When composition changes go live, additions and removals are recorded with the timestamp, weights and MPX level.
Index continuity
A rebalance does not reset MPX to 100. If MPX is 117.42 before a rebalance, the new basket tracks from 117.42. The composition changes. The index continues.
Market data
Constituent market data is sourced from DexScreener. The provider does not operate, endorse or determine MPX. MPX is recalculated as updated market data becomes available, and the last updated time shown is taken from the stored index data.
Asset identification
Constituents are identified by contract address, not ticker alone. Assets with duplicate names or symbols cannot be confused with MPX constituents.
MPX and $MPX
MPX Index is the benchmark measuring the weighted performance of the current constituent basket. $MPX is the tokenized implementation of MPX, designed to provide exposure to the basket represented by the index. $MPX is not live yet. MPX is not an ETF or fund.
